Introductory thoughts on the module and conflict situation
Choosing this class seemed like an obvious decision, given my future professional plans. In one form or another, I'd like to work in the intersection between nature protection and politics. The last years have made it evident to me that research and science alone won't be enough in order to bring about change regarding our practices that effect the environment. What is needed is communicating the science effectively to the public and inspiring people to act and care for what science recommends. A big part of political work however, is also conflict solving and mediating between different interests that are effected by certain nature protection measures. This is why I was interested in this environmental mediation modul. The presented contents matched my expectations and I am looking forward to learning more.
